Tips for Setting Up at Home Practice Props
1. Definitely need 1 skid-free yoga mat. (Yoga should be practiced on hardwood floor NOT carpet OR tile, fear of falling and getting hurt)
2. Props
a) For props bolsters are good which some of you may have OR then can fold blankets at home and can be used for propping under the knees.
b) Can use quilts, they have a bit more structure OR even throw blankets could make a good bolster.
c) Also can use a simple cushion that you may find in your home (from a rocking chair, should be firm and solid (NO pillow, OR soft cushions, will need a little depth and firmness).
3. Ordinary everyday kitchen chair to do step backs from, a nice stool can be a substitute, if they have space underneath to move the legs.
4. Block Towers: You can make your own block towers at home using
a) Unopened paper towels could work as a tower.
b) You could use hard cover rectangular books, stack 5 of even length and size and secure them with duct tape. You will need 2 of those for either side to practice.
c) You could also use DVD old CD covers of the same size and maybe stack 6 and secure them with duct tape, one for the other side too. You could use them as just blocks OR then as a rectangular block tower.
